Today I have created a video to present on the topic of meditation, bullet point #9 from the Healthy Life Foundation Chart under the header Spiritual. The first 16 bullet points have an emphasis on developing ourselves.
Meditation is a tool we can use to calm the mind and to help us make better decisions. There is a reason why people say to sleep on it before making a decision. Reflecting and altering our perception can help us see things we could not see before.
Some of the changes and updates I have made through this journey have been after meditation. Although, I am still far from where I want to be. I am entering a sense of calm, and that gives me encouragement. Many factors have contributed to this calm, but meditating on decisions and listening to the Holy Spirit has been key.
I encourage you to take 5-10 minutes at the beginning of the day to set the intention to have a great day. When you can find time, like in bed before you fall asleep, use that time to meditate on something as simple as the word love, peace, or happiness. I sometimes say those words over and over to myself, which shuts down my brain's clutter.
If you are a sauna lover like me, do it there. Or take a trip to the beach or local park to sit on the ground and meditate on God's beautiful creation. The ocean has been my best friend many times, and the night sky is willing to listen when you need to vent. Admiring the vastness of the ocean and sky reminds us that we are little compared to the greater picture, and thus, so are our problems.
